Denver Moms who call me to do a fall photo shoot usually request one of two location options, fall leaves or mountains. This beautiful mountain location, Mt. Falcon, that I photographed the Favela family at, is only 30 minutes from Denver and is a great family photo shoot spot for sunset. There are lots of photo opportunities, beautiful light and room for the kids to run around too!
Rebecca and Paul Favela and their two adorable daughters, Autumn, 7, and Serenity, 4, wanted to do their family photo shoot at a mountain location. As a family, they love going on mountain adventures so this seemed like the logical backdrop for them. We met about an hour before the sun was to set so we could get some daylight images too.
Rebecca described her girls as miracle babies as she was told she wouldn’t be able to get pregnant. After 15 years together and no kids, you can imagine how shocked Paul and Rebecca were to find out Rebecca was pregnant! She took 3 tests just to be sure. Even though it was a rough pregnancy, Rebecca gave birth to Autumn who Rebecca describes as super shy but very athletic. Her little sister Serenity was born 3 years later and is the more outgoing one of the sisters. She loves to sing and dance and certainly hammed it up for our photo session!
Family photo shoots are a fun way for families to bond and get out together in nature. While fall is a popular time for a family shoot, winter, spring and summer offer great opportunities as well. It’s just important to choose the right location.
If you’d like to book a family photo shoot with me at Mt. Falcon, be it winter, spring, summer or fall, you can contact me here, or Call me at 808-344-1550. I’ve been photographing families for over 15 years now, here in Denver and in Maui, HI, and have been told I’m great at capturing nice candid moments. I can also suggest other great locations in or near Denver and give you advice on clothing choices for the family.Â
